Since 2000, polycrystalline fiber insulation board ( 40 mm thick ) with good high temperature performance, high compressive strength and low relative thermal conductivity has been introduced in Anshan iron and steel works to improve the thermal insulation performance of the converter, to some extent, improve the thermal efficiency of the converter and reduce the deformation degree of the furnace shell. However, after the polycrystalline fiber insulation board is used in the converter, the crystallization and pulverization phenomenon will occur, which will lead to the furnace lining brick, which is not conducive to the long life and safe production of the converter. therefore, it is necessary to improve the insulation material of the converter.
The low thermal conductivity nano thermal insulation board is mainly made of nano low thermal conductivity material by high pressure composite pressing. The density of that material is small, and the diameter of the pore in the material is smaller than the average free path of the gas, so that gas molecule in the material can be kept in a static state and convection heat exchange cannot occur, so that convection and heat conduction of the gas in the pores in the heat insulation plate are prevented, and the nano heat insulation plate has extremely low heat conductivity and better heat insulation performance. At present, nano thermal insulation plate has been widely used in ladle, ladle and tundish. If the nano thermal insulation board is applied to the converter thermal insulation layer, and its ultra-low thermal conductivity characteristics are brought into play, it will be of great significance for converter energy saving and consumption reduction. therefore, this paper mainly introduces the application effect of nano thermal insulation board in Angang 260 t converter, hoping to play a certain reference role for converter energy saving and consumption reduction.
1 experimental process and results
From August 2014 to April 2015, combined with the actual operation of 260 t converter, a new 20 mm thick nano thermal insulation board was first applied to the thermal insulation layer of No. c converter molten pool, furnace body and furnace cap of Angang No. 4 steelmaking plant, and replaced the 40 mm polycrystalline fiber thermal insulation board. In order to detect the change of the converter shell temperature, the temperature measuring part is selected as the converter tapping side molten pool part and the middle part of the furnace body supporting ring, three temperature measuring points, the temperature measuring time is the whole converter service, the test temperature value is 266. After tracking the recording temperature of converter steel shell, it is found that the temperature of converter steel shell is lower than the average temperature of using polycrystalline fiber insulation board by more than 11 ℃. no pulverization phenomenon of nano insulation board is found during furnace disassembly, and no brick lining phenomenon is found during the whole furnace service process. Although the thickness of insulation layer of converter lining is reduced by 20 mm, the performance of insulation layer is obviously better than that of polycrystalline fiber insulation board, and the volume ratio of furnace is increased ( the steel loading is increased by 4 t / furnace ), the splashing of molten steel is reduced, the safety of lining and the steel output are improved, and meanwhile, the active promoting effect is played for optimizing the organization production, reducing the production consumption and improving the economic benefit of the plant. Table 1 shows the physical and chemical indexes of nano thermal insulation board and polycrystalline fiber thermal insulation board.

Conclusion
Through the application of nano thermal insulation board to the converter of Angang No.4 steelmaking plant;
( 1 ) that nano heat insulation plate doe not appear pulverization phenomenon and the converter shell is not deform after being used at a high temperature, and the temperature of the furnace shell is reduce by more than 11 deg c compared with that of the polycrystalline fiberboard, so that the safety of the lining is improved, the heat loss of the converter is reduced, the smelting time is reduced, the labor intensity is reduced, the maintenance cost is saved, and the heat efficiency of the converter is improved, and the nano heat insulation plate has important significance for steelmaking production.
